Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School.  As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, Feb. 15, due to President's Day. Tuesday, February 16, is an eLearning Day for all students. We will resume all of our learning models on Wednesday, February 17. Students in the Hybrid In-Person model will return to following the Black and Gold schedule.  Black day students, with last names A-K, should report on Wednesday the 17th, and Gold Day students with last names L-Z should report on Thursday the 18th.  The full schedule can be located in our SAFE Reopening Plan linked in the email corresponding to this call.  It is imperative that all hybrid students attend school each day they are assigned and log in to complete assignments and take their attendance on the days they are working virtually from home.

Students and families can expect communication from their child’s bus driver to communicate bus stop information and pick up times by Tuesday morning, February 16. If you have not received a call by Tuesday morning, please contact transportation at (317) 532-2820.   As a reminder,  parents and caregivers that are dropping off and picking up students must do so at the main entrance to the high school.  Please enter from Mitthoeffer Road or 21st street and pull all the way around the circle to let your students out.   This will allow for more vehicles to drop off at one time and prevent a back up in traffic.

Fully virtual students will remain on a synchronous class schedule on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with application days on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Virtual students will follow the traditional bell schedule. Please be sure to log into all of your classes on time on synchronous days and take your attendance and complete all assigned work on Tuesday and Thursday application days.

Now that our students are returning to school, we have made some adjustments to our food distribution schedule. 100% VIRTUAL families can pick up food on Tuesdays from either 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Moorhead Community Resource Center located at 8400 East 10th Street. This Friday, February 12, was our last distribution at Raymond Park Intermediate/Middle School and Warren Central High School. All hybrid in-person students will have the opportunity to pick up meals while in-person to take home for the following day. Please encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity!

Juniors and seniors that were unable to take the ISTEP test during their scheduled time, will be assigned to make up testing in the coming days.  Please be sure students check their email for testing times and locations.  Attendance is mandatory.

We are all looking forward to seeing students back in the building this week.  We know transitions can be challenging and we are here to support all students as we return to the hybrid in-person learning model.  I would like to encourage all students and families to communicate specific needs or concerns with teachers and cohort teams.   Together we will get through this school year stronger than when we started.

Thank you so much for your time and have a great evening.
