Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School. The upcoming week, again, includes many important opportunities for students. Please take note of all details being shared this evening.
State mandatory ISTEP testing continues this week. Junior students with last names L-Z will test each day from Tuesday, February 9th through Friday, February 12th. Juniors should report to their testing locations by 7:15 each day. Senior ISTEP retesters will test from February 9th-12th, with testing beginning at 7:15 am each day. Passing these tests fulfills a graduation requirement and attendance is mandatory. Testing locations have been sent to students via email. Please direct any questions you may have to your student’s cohort team. Should we have a 2-hour delay this week due to inclement weather, we will continue with testing as scheduled, with test sessions beginning at 9:15 am.
Senior families, as principal of Warren Central, I take great pride in the achievements of our student body, and each year that tone is set by the achievements of the senior class. I know this year has not been like any other. We are all out of our routines and taking things day by day. It is deeply important to me to see each of our seniors successfully complete their high school career. I am asking that all seniors finish strong, dig deep, and work hard to get through the next four months so that they can pursue their dreams. As always, please let us know if you are struggling and need our assistance.
Our graduation committee has finalized plans for this year’s commencement ceremony, and we want to see each and every senior walk across the stage in June.
In order to earn a Warren Central High School diploma, and participate in the graduation ceremony, all seniors must complete all course credit requirements and either pass the Istep graduation qualifying exam or complete a graduation pathway.
Graduation will be held on Thursday, June 3rd, and Friday, June 4th in the Warren Central Performing Arts Center. Warren Township will purchase a cap and gown for each graduate as well as deliver congratulatory yard/window signs. We look forward to celebrating with the class of 2021.
A cap and gown google order form will be sent to all seniors on Monday
February 8, 2021. Please fill out this form so we can order the correct size cap and gown for each student.
In preparedness for potential inclement weather this winter, an inclement weather delay, and closing FAQ has been created to address this during the IN-PERSON, VIRTUAL, and HYBRID window. The FAQ can be found on our district website by clicking District Information under the Explore Tab.
Finally, due to testing and possible inclement weather, there will not be Senior Learning Hubs this week nor will we provide after-school tutoring services.
Thank you and have a good evening.
