Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School.
Starting Monday, September 21st all full time VIRTUAL and ALTERNATING DAY students will be required to mark their own attendance in Canvas on days they are not in their school building. Staying active and engaged in each Canvas course is critical for learning and success both short term and long term. Written and video instructions can be found in Canvas. Students will simply click on the daily attendance link on the left side of their canvas page and follow the steps. Attendance must be taken on the actual day and will not be available before or after the current day.
We are currently celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central, and South America. We invite you to celebrate along with us.
College Go Week starts tomorrow, September 21st. College Go Week is dedicated to helping students find the right college that fits their personality and interests by providing information and opportunities to explore and plan for education beyond high school. High school level activities focus on finding the right school/program, financial aid, and the application process. For more information visit: learnmoreindiana.org.
In conjunction with College Go Week, senior students should begin creating their Parchment account. Parchment is the company we use to send your official transcripts to a college/university you are applying to, a trade school, or even a job that requires one. You can set this account up at www.Parchment.com. When setting up this account please use a personal email address, not your school-issued email address so that you may maintain access after graduation.
Additionally, Yearbooks can be ordered online, in the bookstore, or in-room G102. The cost is $55 until fall intersession. After the intercession, the cost will increase. You can find the link on our website. (https://www.yearbookordercenter.com/general/homepage?portal=true)
Also, all home athletic event tickets will be purchased through the GOFAN app or link below. This will allow us to monitor and comply with spectator capacity. In addition, this online application will assist with contact tracing. https://gofan.co/app/school/IN2505
All spectators will be required to complete a contact tracing form upon entering a Warren Central athletic event so please plan accordingly. Warren Central Contact Tracing Form
As we prepare for another great week, please be reminded this week will start with a Black Day on Monday. Black day students should attend in person and Gold day students will work from home. Please screen students daily for COVID 19 symptoms. Students experiencing symptoms should stay home and parents or caregivers should contact the cohort office with that information
As always, please make sure to check your email, the Warren Township app, and social media for continued updates. Thank you and have a good evening
