Greetings, this is Mrs. Taylor, proud principal of Warren Central High School!
We continue to push successfully through the first month of school, and I am excited to see the incredible work happening throughout our building. Our students and staff are working hard each day and remain focused on ensuring that we continue on the path toward academic excellence.
Attendance & Being On Time
We continue to closely monitor attendance and want to ensure that every student is attending school daily, arriving on time, and actively engaging in learning. Please speak with your student about the importance of moving with a purpose in the hallways and arriving to class on time.
When students are late to class, they miss important instruction and can disrupt the learning environment when entering after instruction has begun. If your student is still having difficulty finding the best route between classes, please encourage them to reach out to their counselor or Dean for assistance.
Mid-Quarter Grades
As we wrap up the third week of school, please remember that Mid-Quarter 1 ends Friday, August 28. Teachers will submit grades on Wednesday, September 2.
Do you know where your student currently stands academically in each of their courses? If not, now is a great time to check!
Please take advantage of ParentVUE, which provides families with access to their student's grades and academic progress in real time. Staying informed throughout the grading period allows you and your student to celebrate successes, identify concerns, and make adjustments before the quarter ends.
Tutoring & Academic Support
Tutoring has officially begun and is available Mondays and Thursdays from 2:45–3:45 p.m. Students who need additional academic support are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to work directly with teachers and strengthen their understanding of course content. Academic Advisory support has begun during the student's 8th period Advisory block. Again, this is another opportunity for students to get content area support from content area teachers.
Please encourage your student to utilize this resource and take ownership of their academic success.
