Greetings, this is Mrs. Taylor, proud principal of Warren Central High School.
First, I want to send a huge thank you to our students, families, and staff for ensuring our 11th graders were present to take the SAT. We had over 97% of our students complete the required exam, 9th, 10th, and 12th Graders if they haven't already should make sure to complete the required eLearning assignment. Completing this assignment is how we account for attendance for this day.
Spring Break will take place March 23rd through April 3rd. As a reminder, we encourage our 11th and 12th grade students to take advantage of our Spring Break Success sessions March 23rd through March 25th. Please check out our Sunday newsletter for more details.
As we approach Spring Break, I want to emphasize the importance of students showing up daily, arriving on time, and actively participating in their learning. Families, please help us reinforce the expectation that students should be in their assigned classes on time. While in the hallways, students should be moving with a sense of purpose and demonstrating our CORE values: Civility, Order, Respect, and Excellence.
We have also opened additional restrooms throughout the building. I’m encouraged to report that we have seen no vandalism in recent weeks, and students appear to be respecting our space. Thank you for your continued partnership in reinforcing this expectation.
In addition to respecting our space, I want to remind families that Warren Central High School is a drug-free campus. Any students found using or distributing drugs are subject to the disciplinary actions outlined in our Student Success Handbook. Final decisions regarding whether a student may safely remain on our campus are made at the discretion of school administration.
We ask families to encourage students that if they see something, they should say something. Please also take time to talk with your student about the harmful effects that drugs can have on the body. It is especially important for students to be aware of what they are putting into their bodies and to avoid accepting items from other students if they are unsure of what they are.
We have signage throughout the building reinforcing these expectations, and we greatly appreciate your support at home in mirroring this message and helping us keep our school community safe.
Thank you for your continued support of Warren Central High School.
