Greetings, this is Mrs. Taylor, proud principal of Warren Central High School!
What an exciting end to our homecoming week and homecoming festivities. It was a great week to be a Warrior. I want to shout out our PTSAs for coordinating all of our Homefest activities. Huge shout out to our Warrior football team for their big win over North Central and congratulations to our newly crowned homecoming queen and king Byron and Melia. Also, I can't forget to shout out our Warren Gold Brigade who gave us a full preview of this year's show Howl Saturday at their community day. Their first competition will be Saturday, September 13th at LCHS at 8pm. Please come out and support our Gold Brigade!
The end of the grading quarter is Sept. 26th. Students should be regularly taking advantage of the many opportunities we have for support. Tutoring continues on Mondays and Thursdays, and support is offered during advisory. Students have the ability to sign up for additional support during open Academic time during advisory. Please see this week's newsletter showing how students sign up and giving you access to sign your student up as well.
We continue to stress the importance of students being at school daily, on-time, and actively engaged in learning. The IDOE has implemented new guidance on how schools are to address student absences more specifically students with excessive unexcused absences. As a district we want to stress the importance of notifying the school anytime your student will be absent. You may contact the school by phone, email, or by sending a note in with your student. Please see the graphic in this week's newsletter that shows the steps we will take as students reach a specific number of absences.
As always, thank you for allowing me to serve you and your students!
Have a great evening!
