Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School. I want to thank everyone that participated in week one of eLearning. I especially want to thank our teachers, counselors, and administrators for all of the work they put into making this happen. As we continue to work through these unprecedented times, we will continually seek your feedback and make adjustments. This week, we would like your feedback regarding technology needs.
MSD of Warren Township is evaluating our technology needs and how to better serve our families and students of the district. Since iPads and Chromebooks require a WiFi connection, we are interested to know whether our students have access to WiFi at home. Please access the technology survey on the Warren Central website, under news or click on the link in the email transcript of this message. (https://forms.gle/NqgYgg15iyHZNyXX7)
Parents and Caregivers of the class of 2020,
First of all, I want to thank you for your support over the last four years. Thank you for encouraging your students to engage in our eLearning activities. This past week, many students participated in the Senior Zoom call. It was stated during that call that we are working hard to consider all options for the commencement ceremony. We must balance safety, CDC guidelines, and meaningful experience as we develop a plan. The conversations we had on the Zoom call were not a commitment to our graduation plan, they were simply ideas that have been suggested to us. A committee of parents, students, teachers, and administrators will be established to determine both plans for commencement and additional ways to honor our seniors. We are thankful for the input you shared and will continue to seek feedback. There are no plans in place at this time. We will update everyone with final plans by Friday, May 8th.
Please continue to engage in eLearning each week. Remember, participating in eLearning counts toward student attendance for the remainder of the school year. Please reach out to your teachers or your cohort team when you are in need of assistance. All staff will be available between 9 am and 4 pm each day via phone and email. You can also meet with them during their scheduled office hours. Although assignments are posted on Monday mornings at 9 am and due on Fridays at 10 pm, I strongly encourage you to set a schedule and do some work each day of the week. It is still important to get adequate rest, eat healthy food, and exercise. All of these things help your brain and body function. Remember, we are all in this together. Stay #warriorstrong.
