Good evening, this is Mrs. Taylor, proud principal of Warren Central High School,
Tomorrow will be our soft launch of our new Evolv metal detectors at one of our entry points. Students entering will be asked to remove their chromebooks from their backpacks and/or their Chromebook bags and hold them up as they cross through. All other school appropriate items may remain in student's bags or on their persons. There will be several adults present to assist students in this new process and to help ensure that we are able to get students through the lines in an efficient manner. Please help us by reminding students that if they enter through an entrance where an Evolv Metal detector is set up they should adhere to adult directions and follow all verbal and posted instructions. We anticipate this being a learning curve for all but are committed to ensuring the safety of all students and staff entering Warren Central High School. As we learn what works best we will adjust accordingly and commit to communicating any changes in the process or entry expectations. I thank you ahead of time for your patience.
As we roll into this last week before spring break please make sure students are at school daily and on time. Many teachers will utilize this last week to wrap up projects, assignments, and administer assessments. Additionally, please note that as we continue to push for all students and staff having a safe space to learn any student fighting, disrupting the learning environment, out of assigned area, and/or not adhering to our school wide expectation of showing CORE may lose the privilege of attending school at Warren Central High School. Please help us by communicating to your students the importance of utilizing the resources and people around them if they find themselves in conflict or feeling unsafe. If they see something say something and if you as a parent or guardian hear something please say something. Deans and administrators are always available via phone, email, or in person. I appreciate your help with this.
Spring break/Intercession will run March 25-April 5th. April 8th due to the full solar eclipse will be an eLearning day for all Warren Township students. Students will return to school on April 9th at the regular scheduled time.
Have a great evening and let's make this last week before break a great one!
