Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School.

As a reminder, Monday, November 23rd, and Tuesday, November 24th will be designated eLearning days. These days will be different from virtual learning that will begin on Monday, November 30th. On these days students will log into Canvas and complete independent curriculum-related activities posted on Canvas. Teachers will be available to answer questions from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm.

Our hope is that all Warren families, students, and staff will enjoy and relax during the upcoming 3-day Thanksgiving break.

Fully virtually learning will begin Monday, November 30th. Students on a hybrid black or gold day schedule will engage in synchronous learning on their assigned days.  Students should report to each scheduled class on time via Zoom.  Teachers will take attendance of virtual attendees and enter attendance each period. Teachers will provide no less than 20 minutes of direct instruction to synchronous hybrid students each period.  Once the instruction is complete, teachers may assign curriculum-related tasks or break out into small groups.  Teachers and students should remain logged into the synchronous Zoom for the duration of the class period.  Teachers will record the lesson and upload it into Canvas studio for viewing.   You can find a copy of the Hybrid Virtual Zoom schedule attached to this email and posted on all of our social media applications.

It is important for all students and families to be aware that all grades during this 17-day virtual learning window will count toward a student’s final semester grade.  I encourage all students to complete any missing work and turn it in no later than Monday, December 14th at 3:00 pm.  Semester grades are final and will be added to each student’s permanent high school transcript.

MSD of Warren Township is committed to supporting families during this time.  If you are in need of resources to assist your student as you navigate virtual learning, please visit our Warren Township Family and Caregiver Resources link.   If you have additional questions or are in need of assistance, please reach out to your student’s cohort office or the high school main office.

As always, please check your email, the Warren Township app, and social media for continued updates.

Thank you so much for your time and have a great evening.
