Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School.  We are looking forward to the start of eLearning, tomorrow, April 13th. All high school students will access eLearning through Canvas.

Students, please check your email for a video message and the eLearning schedule.  That information is also posted on our website and the Warren Central Canvas Page.

We encourage you to find a place at home that you can use as your space to do school work and to set a schedule so that you can stay on track.  It is important to engage in all eLearning activities that are assigned to you. Your participation will count toward your attendance for this school year.  This experience is new for all of us; teachers and students alike, if you need help, please ask. Your teachers, cohort teams and administrators are ready and waiting to help you through this process.

If you are experiencing issues with your Chromebook or charger or may have left it at school, please visit the drive-thru Chromedesk at door 70 (the main entrance to the Walker Career Center) Monday-Friday 11-1 pm.  Make sure to bring your student ID with you. Additionally, we have set up three wifi locations that are accessible on campus. Lot 5 (outside of the freshman academy), Lot 7 (west of the football field), and Lot 8 (east of the football field) will have accessible wifi from 7 am-8 pm daily.  I would request that this option be used only when necessary. Please remain in your vehicle and park with at least two parking spaces between each car. If you walk to school to access wifi, please find a space to sit that is isolated and away from others. It is important that we adhere to all CDC guidelines and continue the practice of social distancing.  Warren Police will be patrolling the campus and will monitor those using the available wifi.

Many of you have asked about picking up your belongings from school as well as the distribution of senior items.  At this time our building is closed and will remain closed minimally, through the Governor’s stay at home order. Once that order has been lifted we will evaluate the best way to address these concerns.

I do want to remind you that our district has two helplines set up for your assistance. If you have questions about eLearning or technology, please contact our eLearning/Learn at Home hotline at (317-608-0545) or email MSDWarrenELEARNING@warren.k12.in.us.

Additionally, if you find yourself in need of food beyond what is being offered, a District Community Outreach hotline and email have been created. You can either call 317-869-4308 or email MSDWarrenOutreach@warren.k12.in.us with your information. Someone from the district will contact you as soon as possible.

Finally, I want to close tonight by asking you to do a couple of things.  First, check your email and canvas pages often. Second, ask for help when you need it.  Next, remember to give grace to everyone around you. Your family, your teachers, and yourself.   Most importantly, as you are taking care of yourself and those around you, let us help when you need it.  We are here to support you. Thank you. Have a good evening.
