Good evening.  This is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School.  As we continue to navigate this unprecedented time, please know that we are here for you and focused on reconnecting with students as we prepare to start eLearning.  Per Governor Holcomb’s executive order, all Warren Township schools will be closed for the remainder of the school year. Even though we will not be meeting in person, we are looking forward to reconnecting virtually through eLearning activities starting the week of April 13th.

It saddens me to say that with the closing of the school building for the remainder of the year, we will also cancel our Top 10 Banquet, Honors Program, Set a Good Example Banquet and our spring athletic seasons.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold commencement at Lucas Oil as originally planned. I can, however, assure you that we are working diligently to make other plans to honor our class of 2020 graduates.

Senior families, as you are aware, the Indiana Department of Education and State Board of Education released guidance regarding senior graduation requirements.  We are actively reviewing that guidance and will be in touch with our plan for Warren Central seniors as soon as possible.

We do understand that many students have belongings at school that needs to be picked up.  If your student needs their instrument for performing arts classes, that can be picked up beginning Monday, April 6th at Door 70 between 11 am and 1 pm.  Please contact Mr. Meckes to let him know you will be coming. Additionally, a drive-thru Chromedesk will be set up beginning Monday, April 6th from 11 am-1 pm at door 70, the main entrance to Walker Career Center.   You can return a non-working Chromebook and have a new one issued, check out a power cord, and/or have account issues addressed. You must have your student ID for new devices or charges will be issued to you.

I also want to remind you about our updated food outreach plan.  To provide increased quantities of meals and to lessen the need to travel on a daily basis, we are adjusting and expanding our food outreach program. We have added a Wednesday evening food outreach site at Post Road Christian Church and now Lakeside Elementary from 5:30 - 7:00. Wednesday locations will distribute a total of 8 meals. Starting next week, we will be distributing 6 meals on Tuesdays and 8 meals on Fridays at now 11 locations from 11:00 -1:00. Eastridge and Hawthorne will be added as Tuesday / Friday locations.

Finally, I want to provide two contact numbers you can reach out to for assistance.  If you have questions about eLearning or technology, please contact our eLearning/Learn at Home hotline at (317-608-0545) or email MSDWarrenELEARNING@warren.k12.in.us.

If you find yourself in need beyond what is being offered, a District Community Outreach hotline and email have been created. You can either call 317-869-4308 or email MSDWarrenOutreach@warren.k12.in.us with your information. Someone from the district will contact you as soon as possible.

Please continue to monitor our website, mobile app, school newsletters, and our social media accounts.  We miss you very much. Stay Warrior Strong.
