Grab your spacesuit, because this new game is going into the black abyss of space. “Outriders” is a third-person co-op shooter role playing game, with amazing graphics, high quality sound, and a well written narrative.

The game begins with some lore, saying that Earth is becoming inhospitable because of multiple natural disasters. Because of this, humanity makes two colony ships: The Nebula and The Caravel. Both of the ships were able to leave Earth’s orbit, but only one ship was able to make it’s intergalactic travel, because The Caravel exploded for unknown reasons.

After a 83-year journey, The Nebula arrived at its destination: Enoch, an earth-like planet that can support human life. The players play the role of an Outrider, whose job is to scout the planet, and report back to deliver the data. The beginning starts off easy, with the players being sent out to find probes and test out their gear, but things get immensely difficult quickly when the player realizes that a storm exists on the planet, called “The Anomaly.” This storm then kills some members of the scouting team, disintegrating them from existence with solarflare-like blasts of lightning. The player gets injured from this, and has to be put into cryo-stasis for the wounds to heal, unknowing that in 30 years, Enoch would be turned into a blood bathed, death filled wasteland.

After a few cutscenes, the player gets to choose one of four classes: “Technomancer”, “Pyromancer”, “Trickster”, or “Devastator”. These classes come with their own abilities, play-style, and weaknesses that the player has to keep an eye out for.

The "Devastator" is the “tank” of the group, having the highest health and armour pool out of the four classes, and has a “up close and personal” play-style. One of the Devastator’s abilities, “Gravity Leap,” allows the player to launch themselves up into the air, before coming back down like a meteor. The devastator class might sound easy, but it is one of the most demanding classes in the game, making players keep an eye on their health and the proximity of enemies, or else they will be wiped out.

The "Trickster" is the “assassin” class, being one with a “hit-and-run” play-style. The trickster’s main gimmick is being a master of stealth and sabotage, while using the powers of space and time to gain the higher hand in combat in the player’s favor. The trickster’s abilities focus around stealth-like tactics, like “Venator’s Blade,” which paralyses and slices through enemies, whilst making all weak enemies explode.

The "Technomancer", the “support” class, the technomancer is a class that thrives in “long range'' situations, making good use of sniper rifles and other long range weapons. The technomancer uses its powers of battlefield ateration through technology to have a winning advantage. With these gadgets, the technomancer can sap health and armour off of its enemies, while also being able to use it’s other abilities, such as "Fixing Waves", to heal it’s teammates.

The "Pyromancer", the closest thing players have to a mage. Multiple players would pick this class on the account of its main abilities to control fire to the players every whim. The pyromancer is a master of status effects, so for his abilities it would revolve around the player using stat. Effects for covering fire, such as feeding the flames. Later on, the pyromancer will gain very dangerous end-game level abilities, such as firing energy beams, and summoning devastating volcanic eruptions.

All and all, this game is a great choice for players who want to be able to do things no normal human could do and then some. This game is available on the Xbox 1, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Stadia. The game only costs around $25, with no known DLC at the moment, but is rumored to be coming soon.
