Samantha Gutzwilller, a junior, is performing at the top level on the Warren Central Lacrosse team. Also a strong student, Gutzwilller is leaving a positive influence on her classmates and her teammates.

“She works really hard at practice and she does have a desire to get better,” head lacrosse coach Gary Roberts said.

She has been playing lacrosse since she got to high school and has loved it. She has made many friends and formed great relationships with people through lacrosse.

“Some of my favorite things about lacrosse are the bonds I've been able to form with my teammates on and off the field and being able to push myself to do better for my team,” junior Samantha Gutzwiller said.

While still focusing on high school, she does have plans for the future. She wishes to take her talent to the next level and improve it further.

“Currently I'm planning on playing lacrosse for the Marine Corps team,” Gutzwiller said.

Her coaches have been very impressed on how far she has come and how much her talent has grown. They are glad to see what has happened with her and hope to continue her success.

“I’ve known her for a long time and I really like how competitive she is,” Roberts said.

Samantha has also had a lot of help along the way. She has had many different people in her life that have helped her get to where she is today.

“My coaches have definitely been a great help in becoming a better player and leader, but my teachers and parents have been a great help with building my mindset on what I want to do with my future and how to achieve my goals,” Gutzwiller said

Her goals consist of playing at the next level, but also having a good rest of her high school lacrosse career. She has high hopes for what her and her teammates are capable of doing.

“Like our team motto says, as long as we ‘play hard, don't suck’ then I will be happy with how our season ends knowing that we gave it our best,” Gutzwiller said.
