Warren Central held its annual homecoming event organized by the Student Council on Sept. 14. Homecoming was called a success and brought out students of all different grade levels, permitting them to spend time with their friends in a stress-free environment.

“This year’s homecoming was very fun,” junior Michaela Smith said. “The people that came were really cool.”

The night before the dance, the winners of this year’s Homecoming Court were announced. Seniors Damien Shanklin and Rica Manago won the titles for the 2024-25 school year’s Homecoming King and Queen.

“It was great to be able to be a part of the court, but it was also good to interact with different people,” senior Damien Shanklin said. “The highlight of my night was winning the game and also winning King.”

The Homecoming dance began at 8 p.m. and didn’t end until 11 p.m. The theme was “all black affair,” and everything ranging from balloons to the DJ set were located in the commons. The music really set the mood for the night.

“The music matched the Warren Central vibe perfectly,” junior Imari Johnson said. “We could’ve gotten more lit, but everything was perfect, and everyone had a good time.”
