On Sept. 18, the first episode of the new miniseries “Agatha All Along” aired. The series is worth giving a watch, with it being an indirect sequel to “WandaVision” but at the same time a standalone series that sees Kathryn Hahn reprising her role as the infamous Salem witch Agatha Harkness. With this series comes a darker, gothic vibe that also makes this the perfect show for the spooky season.
After being placed under a spell by Wanda Maximoff at the end of “WandaVision,” Agatha Harkness was then forced to “play” the part of the nosy neighbor.
Now she has been freed by a character that is only referred to as “Teen,” who's played by Joe Locke. The character claims to be a big fan of Agatha Harkness since the days of the Salem witch trials.
Locke is well known from his role as Charlie Spring in the show “Heartstopper,” and some fans suspect his mysterious character to be Wanda Maximoff’s child, Billy Maximoff.
The reason he freed her is because he needs help walking the Witches’ Road. But he also offered to help her get back the power that was stolen from her by walking the Witches’ Road once more. In order to be able to do all of that she first has to assemble a coven.
The series begins with Agatha as a detective with the name Agnes O’Connor still trapped under Wanda's spell.
A while later while working the case, after catching him breaking into her home, she began questioning the mystery teen as to why. During her questioning, reality began warping around her, and her misconceptions of reality lead her to the Westview coroner's office where she was able to free herself from the spell.
When she finally came to, she ended up back in her home realizing what had happened. She then finds out she was under Wanda’s influence for three years.
Shortly after she came to, she was attacked by her longtime rival Rio Vidal, played by Aubrey Plaza.
Rio then decided to spare her and leave her to fend for herself against the series’ antagonists “The Salem Seven.”
In the second episode, Agatha prepares to take off and get as far as she can before the Salem Seven arrive. When Agatha asked who the teen was, as he tried to identify himself he was silenced by some kind of magic that piqued Agatha’s interest.
They then take off together to assemble a coven to open the door to the Witches’ Road which requires three different kinds of witches. A coven, according to the Ballad of the Witches’ Road, requires a green blood, potions and divination witch.
With so much more to look forward to, there will be one episode released every Wednesday to a total of nine episodes until Nov. 6. Fans can watch the show on Disney+.
