  • Hosting a Senior Dinner at homecoming for the Class of 2020 and recognizing them at halftime
  • Creation of a permanent structure or mural on the WCHS campus to forever honor the class of 2020. 
Parking

** Parking will open 30 minutes prior to each ceremony and families will be dismissed on a first come, first served basis. We recommend that families plan to arrive at various times during the course of the three-hour window. 25 families will be permitted in the building at a time, with additional families being dismissed approximately every 90 seconds.

GuestsEach graduate is permitted to bring no more than five family members to the ceremony. All guests must enter together, with the graduate. Children under the age of 2 will not count toward the total number of guests.All guests are strongly encouraged to wear personal protective equipment such as masks.
CommencementParking•Parking will be limited. Please plan to carpool if possible.
  • Vehicles transporting the graduate should enter off of 16th street and will park in Lot 4 on the southwest corner of campus.
  • Lot 4 is traditionally used for marching band practice and is near the Performing Arts Center.
  • Additional vehicles may enter off of 18th street and park in Lot 5, west of the natatorium and freshman academy
  • Handicapped parking is available in Lot 4.
  • Families will be asked to vacate the parking lots immediately following the recognition of their student.
  • Caps and Gowns•All graduates should wear their school-issued cap and gown for the ceremony.
  • Caps and gowns may not be altered from their original form and only school-issued cords and stoles may be worn.
  • Tassels should be worn on the right and turned to the left after walking across the stage.
  • Sunglasses are not permitted.
  • All other items should be left with family members.
  • Graduates are encouraged to wear personal protective equipment such as masks.
  • StagingGraduates and their families will be dismissed from their vehicles on a first come first served basis and assembled backstage of the Performing Arts Center. Hallways will be clearly marked for social distancing. For safety reasons, please refrain from socializing or taking photos with other families before, during and after the ceremony.
    Handicapped Accessibility The facility is handicap accessible. If you have specific needs for a student and/or family members, please contact your school counselor in advance so they can be arranged.
    Hearing Impaired AccommodationsAn interpreter for the hearing impaired can be provided if requested. Please make sure to notify your school counselor in advance if this service is needed.
    Photography•Parents, relatives, and guests will be permitted to take photos of the graduate as they receive their diploma cover and cross the stage.
  • Please note, the ceremony will not pause for photos. Please be prepared to take photos upon entering the PAC.
  • Diploma and Cover•The diploma cover will be handed to each student as they walk across the PAC stage.
  • Students that have met all graduation requirements will be given their diploma in the PAC lobby.
  • All students will also receive a graduation program, copy of the Indianapolis Star, and 2020 class photo.
  • Exiting Campus•In order to closely adhere to safety measures and do our best to protect our families and students, all graduates and families will be asked to exit campus immediately following their student’s recognition. •Please exit using 18th street and heading west toward Post road.
