While we all wish we were heading to Lucas Oil Stadium on June 3, we know that is an impossibility in these unprecedented times. We are committed to honoring the class of 2020 in a first-class fashion and will work tirelessly to do all that we can to make this a positive and everlasting experience. Below you will find the four-phase plan created by our graduation committee.

Virtual Graduation Ceremony
  • Cap and Gown Pick up on May 5, 2020. 
  • Distribution of yard/window signs for each student
  • IndyStar publication honoring WCHS class of 2020 (copy purchased for each student)
  • 20 Days of Class of 2020 Social Media Highlights 
  • Saturday June 13, 2020 7:00 pm
  • Students submit pictures for ceremony (in cap and gown) by May 20, 2020
  • Video includes all speeches and ceremonial traditions
  • Full length ceremony link will be shared with all families.
  • Class of 2020 Picture (digital creation of picture of senior class on football field) 
Phase 3 
Tentative in-person recognition at WCHS 
Phase 4
2020-2021 School Year Plans
  • Possible parade through campus of WCHS.
  • Teachers and staff will line up around the route with banners and signs
  • Depending on social distancing guidelines at the time, receive their diploma holder through their car window.

* with appropriate social distancing and approved by health department and local officials.  

  • Hosting a Senior Dinner at homecoming for the Class of 2020 and recognizing them at halftime
  • Creation of a permanent structure or mural on the WCHS campus to forever honor the class of 2020.
