Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School.

Fully virtually learning will begin tomorrow, Monday, November 30th. Students on a hybrid black or gold day schedule will engage in synchronous learning on their assigned days.  Students should report to each scheduled class on time via Zoom.  Teachers will take attendance of virtual attendees and enter attendance each period.    You can find a copy of the Hybrid Virtual Zoom schedule attached to this email and posted on all of our social media applications.

It is important for all students and families to be aware that all grades during this 17-day virtual learning window will count toward a student’s final semester grade.  I encourage all students to complete any missing work and turn it in no later than Monday, December 14th at 3:00 pm.  Semester grades are final and will be added to each student’s permanent high school transcript.

Senior families, we will continue with ISTEP make up testing this week.  Please ask your students to check their email for testing dates, times, and locations.  It is imperative that all seniors on the testing list, complete this assessment.  Math makeup testing is Tuesday, December 1st, and English testing will take place on Wednesday, December 2nd, and Thursday, December 3rd at 8:30 am.   Transportation and lunch will be available for students taking the test.

Mid quarter two grades have been posted. In order to view your student's progress report for Mid-Quarter 2, log in to the Parent Portal.  On the lower left hand side, there is a Report Card icon.  When you click on Report Card, you will be able to see the posted grades..  If you would like to see more details about a grade click on the Grade Book icon to the left.  On this screen, you can click on a class title and a list of the assignments and scores.  Be sure to look at the correct grading period since this screen allows you to change to the different grading periods for the school year. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student's teacher or cohort team.  Viewing midterm grades will allow you to see your student’s progress and know what needs to be done before the end of the semester.

If your student experiences Chromebook, account, or software issues during virtual learning, please visit our Technology helpdesk at Moorehead Community Resource Center Monday-Friday from 10 am-2 pm.  Broken or lost Chromebooks can also be addressed at all district Intermediate/Middle Schools Monday-Friday from 8 am-4 pm.

We miss our students already.  Together we will get through this again.  Thank you for your commitment to your student’s educational success and social-emotional well-being.  We promise to continue to do the same.   In the coming weeks, you will see our cohort teams go mobile.  Warren on Wheels (WOW) will send high school deans, counselors, and academic coaches into the community to provide support to our families.  Please reach out to your student’s cohort team if we can assist you.

Thank you so much for your time and have a great evening.
