The football season here at Warren is coming to a close, with the Warriors reaching sectionals. They took their first sectional win on Oct. 30 against the North Central Panthers, ending the night with a score of 21-17. Then on Nov. 6, they faced off against Lawrence North with a score of 21-7, sending them to regionals at Center Grove High School on Nov. 14th.

“[We need] more energy every play [and to] stop slacking,” junior Dejuan Echols said.

The team had started to exhibit their true strength and skill during practice in preparation for this game. The energy was at a constant high and they carried it with them throughout the whole game.

“You gotta get better every day because that's what our opponents are doing. So you just have to outwork them each and every day and you’ll come out victorious on Friday,”  Terez Reid said

The high stakes of the game mixed with the chance of it being their sectionals title was not only motivating him but his teammates.

“The coaches have a great practice plan for us on Friday and we just have to come out and execute it. They put us in the best position to be successful so we just have to execute it” Reid said.

Despite their current win to loss ratio, they did not give up on trying to make their way through sectionals. With a combination of hard work on and off the field, they were starting to look like they were shaping up and molding themselves into who they were trying to be all season.

“Practice has been going a lot better since playoffs everybody has been coming in with a lot more energy and a lot more focus,” senior Terez Reid said.

The team they go up against next is Center Grove, a team with a record this season. During their most recent match against Columbus East for their sectional title, they won 58-7.

With a little bit of dedication as well as some effort put in the boys should be able to bring home a win just like they did against Lawrence north-central so they continue their season.

“Can't fold won't fold family over everything,” Joseph Edwards said.

The team has started to improve themselves and they all seem to have finally found their motivation. From countless hours on the field repeating drill after drill, this seems to be looking in the right direction.

“We never put our heads down when we were faced with adversity and we came out with the win. I wasn't just one person or player, it was everybody and we came out victorious” Reid said.
