The Lady Warriors basketball team is back in the game. After ending their last season in a loss in the sectional semifinals to Lawrence North, the Lady Warriors are ready to go.

Warren started off this season with a game at Fishers, which they lost 56-36

COVID-19 had a moderate effect on the team because it prevented extra practices from occurring.

“COVID-19 mostly affected our offseason,” assistant coach Erin Kacey said.

Due to the virus, the team has had to cram in things that they would have done in the offseason in the practices for the first few weeks.

“Our first week of practice was the best one we ever had,” senior Tionna Malone said.

Overall, everyone is just excited for the opportunity to play because they did not know whether they would be able to this year.

“I think everyone is more appreciative of the opportunity to play now,” Kacey said.

The team looks forward to getting better throughout the year and hopefully making a run further into the state tournament.

“I'm excited to watch the team grow and improve and come together,” Kacey said.
