Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School.   As many of you have noticed updates and renovations to the high school have started.  Effective immediately, lots 2 and 3 on the 16th street side of the building will be closed and south side entrances to the building will not be accessible.  To maintain order, parents, and caregivers that are dropping off and picking up students must do so at the main entrance to the high school.  Please enter from Mitthoeffer Road or 21st street and pull all the way around the circle to let your students out.   This will allow for more vehicles to drop off at one time and prevent a back up in traffic.

I would like to remind all families that student attendance is imperative, both in-person and virtually.  Students working from home, whether virtual or hybrid must complete a daily exit ticket for each course they are enrolled in to ensure they are marked present for the days they are working virtually.  Daily attendance, both in person and virtually demonstrates a commitment to excellence in academics and will lead to positive outcomes in the classroom.

Class of 2022, next week you will receive information about this year’s PSAT test administration. The PSAT is a college readiness exam that helps to prepare students for the SAT and can qualify you for both National Merit Scholarships and dual credit enrollment.  It will be offered on Thursday, October 29th for both in-person and virtual students.   Please pay close attention to your email and your cohort Canvas page for more information.

Our breakfast and lunch distribution for all VIRTUAL students will continue to be Tuesday and Friday mornings from 8:00 - 9:30 AM at Moorhead Community Resource Center. Starting next week, we will also be adding Tuesday evenings from 4:30-6:00 PM as an additional distribution time. I would also like to remind our students that we are offering a take-home meal for your VIRTUAL Application Day.

Additionally, virtual students who still need to pick up their virtual items please contact your student's school counselor to have your items pulled and ready for a pickup.  Pick up times will be Monday through Thursday, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Door 1.  A face covering is required to enter our building.

As we prepare for another great week, please be reminded this week will start with a Gold Day on Monday. Gold day students should attend in person and Black day students will work from home.  Please screen students daily for COVID 19 symptoms. Students experiencing symptoms should stay home and parents or caregivers should contact the cohort office with that information.

Finally, in order for our schools to be in compliance with the state laws regarding immunizations, please make sure that your student(s) have their updated information on file with your school's nursing staff.  All student vaccines must be on file and up to date by September 21, 2020, to avoid exclusion.  Please make your school's nursing staff aware of any upcoming appointments for vaccines, or if there are any medical or religious objections to your student receiving his or her vaccines.

Also, PLEASE inform your school's nurse of any chronic health conditions that the school should be made aware of, and that your student's medical emergency information is up to date."

As always, please check your email, the Warren Township app, and social media for continued updates.

Thank you and have a good evening.
